Skiatook Soccer Club is proud to announce a groundbreaking partnership with one of Oklahoma's premier soccer clubs, West Side Alliance. This will bring a new level of soccer to the youth players and families of Skiatook and the surrounding communities. WSA OC Academy and Competitive teams will be forming, and playing out of Skiatook.
Who is WSA?
WSA was founded in 1992. Since that time WSA has produced elite level youth competitive soccer teams, achieving numerous state championships, regional and national rankings, hundreds of college placements, and a handful of professional player placements.
West Side Alliance SC is a leading competitive soccer club in Oklahoma and the region, and contains divisions located throughout Oklahoma, primarily in the greater Tulsa Metro area.
WSA includes a professional staff of paid coaches, including a coaching staff that has over 10 college coaches, a networked and supportive alumni community of former players, and approximately 70 nationally licensed coaching staff.
What does the partnership offer?
Skiatook Soccer Club and WSA are partnering to bring Academy and Competitive programming to the youth players of Skiatook and surrounding areas. This programming will provide a higher level of coaching and competition to players in the U7-U19 age groups. Players will benefit greatly from the development directed curriculum. Nationally licensed coaches will provide age appropriate training and development that cannot currently be found in Skiatook. In addition, we will be able to provide coaching education for all coaches participating in the SSC recreational programming.
The WSA OC Academy is committed to providing an excellent player experience that focuses on individual development through a fun, technique orientated curriculum. The WSA Academy mission is to build the best youth soccer experience in the state of Oklahoma. An Academy that positively impacts the development of our players on and off the field and positively impacts our community.
Don't Academy and Competitive Teams Travel A Lot?
Not necessarily. Travel for WSA OC teams remains local, primarily within the Tulsa metro, with exceptions for possible tournament play in area tournaments.
What does it cost?
Understandably, this is generally one of the most important questions for parents. We have worked to set up this partnership in a fashion that allows us to control the costs of the program. We are able to provide the same top level coaching and playing experience for players, at about half the cost of other academy and competitive programs. How does this change recreational soccer in Skiatook?
It doesn't. This partnership will not impact the recreational programming for SSC. It only provides additional programming options for those that seek a more competitive, higher level soccer experience. SSC recreational operations will continue without interruption.
